Ned thought for a moment. ''The only people that have come to visit him that I know of are his girlfriend, Chloe Morgan, and myself.''

''Sir,'' began the doctor, ''I'm not accusing you of anything, but please understand that this makes you and Miss Morgan suspects in a murder.''

''I certainly didn't do anything,'' said Ned. ''And neither did Chloe.''

Monica was heard from across the hall where she was talking to Mac. ''Now I remember. That new nurse was in there. Nurse Anderson. Could she really have-- but why? What would her motive have been?''
