Alexis tries to kill Jax

Without thinking, Alexis punched Jax and he fell to the ground. She lit a match and threw it on him. Without looking back, she ran to the car and sped off.

Before long, she was back in her apartment. Sonny, Carly and Zander greeted her excitedly. ''Is it done?'' asked Sonny.

Alexis nodded, as if in a trance. ''I burned them both.''

Carly looked confused. ''You only had to burn AJ's body.''

''I killed Jax. He found me and I killed him.'' She looked at them and began to shake. ''I'm going to be sick.'' She covered her mouth and ran to the bathroom.

The phone rang. The others let it ring, not wanting anyone to know they were in Alexis' apartment. The answering machine picked it up. ''Alexis,'' said Ned's voice. ''Call me back as soon as you can. Jax is in the hospital. He was burned pretty badly. He's alive, but the doctors aren't sure if he'll stay that way, so please call me back. Bye.''

Sonny was irate. ''I thought you said killed him!''

Alexis reentered, looking pale as could be. ''I'm sorry. I should have made sure.''

''He could live and tell on you,'' he said. ''Go to the hospital and finish the job!''
